A review of criticisms of the mathematical evaluation of ESP data. Stuart, C. E.; Greenwood, J. A. Journal of Parapsychology, 1, 1937, 295-304.

Reports of ESP test results usually evaluate the data mathematically by giving a deviation from mean chance expectation, a critical ratio, and a statement of pr obability relating to the critical ratio. The writers review critical attacks up on the use and accuracy of these statistics. They find changes suggested by alte rnative hypotheses negligible except for small numbers of runs.
