Separation of Power
To prevent arbitrary government power, by diving political power into three separate and independent functions; legislative, executive and judicial. The idea was created by Montesquieu He believed that the powers of the government should be limited, divided and checked Legislative: creates laws Executive: administer the law Judicial: interpret law Australia Britain USA
