Critical Thomism and the Liberal Good of Order

In his book “Insight” Bernard Lonergan asserts that the purpose of the political

specialization of common sense is the Good of Order. (p. 213) But, at the same time

Lonergan also states that The Cosmopolis, or Critical Moral Culture also affects the

political order. (p.230). Given, this I think it is more accurate to say that the end or

purpose of the political specialization of common sense is the Liberal Good of Order

which has as its’ guiding principle, the Critical Thomist notion of the Individual Good.
