    My children, we should love people, not only with words and talk but by our actions and true caring. 1 John 3.18
    It looks like it will be a great week for our camp out. Please make sure your 5th grader has looked through the check list and is bringing all the items s/he needs. We have enough sleeping bags for everyone -- YEI!!! -- and if you think your child needs it, dont hesitate to send a blanket as well. I am sure that by Friday night we will be able to say, A great time was had by all. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me. I have sent you all the site for the campsite but just in case, here it is again.

    Technology Tidbits has been cancelled for this week.

    For our last writing project, we will be working on a 5-paragraph essay based on the book George Washingtons Socks, which we are reading together. This is a good project to look at and assess where your child is in her/his writing at the end of elementary school.

    We will be continuing our study of ecology in science this week. Our camp time will center on the nature we are in and how we can participate in being care-takers of it. We will also be starting the American Civil War in Social Studies. That should bring us to the end of the year with very few loose ends.
