The Amount of Silver That May Be Included In a Ring For Men

Sunan An-Nasai: Vol. 6, No. 5198: [Maktaba Dar-us-Salam, First Edition, January 2008] 'Abdullah bin Buraidah narrated from his father that a man came to the Prophet (pbuh) and he was wearing an iron ring. He said: "Why do I see you wearing the jewelry of the people of Hell?" He threw it away, then he came and he was wearing a brass ring. He said: "Why do I notice the stench of idols from you?" So he threw it away, and said: "0 Messenger of Allah, what should I use?" He said: "Silver, but it should not equal a Mithqal." (Hasan) Comment: 'Keep it less than one Mithqal': A Mithqal equals 4.235 grams, a little over four grams. Hence, the silver ring too ought to be less than that weight.
