Heidi’s education adventure

Our first meeting in AMASYA

 Arrival day
• On 2nd of dec. we arrived at Ziyaret
Primary School
• A group of children welcomed us by
giving flowers and moistening our
hands with “kolonya”, a custom in
this country
• An historical battle anthem was
singed and played by fancy-dressed
children.
• Teachers, pupils and local authorities
were involved in this ceremony
After that we went in a meeting room
where, in front of special guests as
the Mayor and Director of
Education
- our host school presented its
project team and the expectations
from this project;
- participating schools introduced
themselves and showed traditions
and customs from each country;
- we listened Turkey anthem;
- Each of them, the headmaster,
mr. Cengiz Telli, miss Firdes
Suren and mr. Gunhan Genc
(teachers and coordinators), had a
speech about the importance for
pupils and teachers of this project;
- Director of Education, mr. Nekati
Akkurt, told us that it was a very
nice experience for him taking part
at this intercultural dialogue
- All of this had echo in local press
and television
