Acts of Genocide committed in the 20th & 21st centuries

Name:_________________________ Materials: 8 x 11 sheet of paper Due: June 1, 2012 Principles and Procedures: Design a brochure about an act of genocide that has been committed during the 20th or the 21st centuries. Include your name, location of act of genocide, who were the people being killed, who were the people committing the genocide, what were the reasons (issues surrounding the atrocities), when did the genocide occur, why is it important for people to know that this happened? (Because there is very little discussed about the genocide committed in Armenia during WWI, you may use this for your research) The brochure will be a propaganda tool against acts of genocide. You will need to create a brochure that informs people of the horrors and crimes against humanity. The brochure will be created on an 8 x 11 piece of paper. The paper is to have two (2) folds, which will provide 6 panels. The brochure must be completed in ink (no regular pencil). All pages must be colorful, NO white space. Colored pencils, crayons, or markers may be used. Each panel will be graded on its accuracy, neatness and appearance.
