This I Believe 1. Please provide a detailed summary describing your artifact and its purpose.

This artifact was an essay I had to complete for English 9 honors. In this essay I had to include a belief I strongly believe in. While constructing this project I had to avoid using clichs. While writing this essay I also had to make sure it was between 300-500 words long. I also had to include sensory detail to show not tell my audience. In my essay my belief was that the way your parents raise you is the type of gentlemen or lady you are. I wrote about the time when I had a dinner with my family. That day my dad invited his friend too tag along with us but he didnt have very good manners. That was the day I realized Manners make a man. 2. Identify and list the GLPO(s) that were satisfied in completing this artifact. In addition please explain how these GLPO(s) were met by specifically refereeing to the examples or evidence from the artifact. (Please specifically refer to the indicators within each domain, and do not simply state that you Took action or Communicated Ideas.) The GLPOs that were used in my essay categorize me at the developing stage to becoming a global leader. One of the few GLPOs was The student uses technology and media to communicate with diverse audience. I completed this task by posting my essay on the World Wide Web when the whole world has access to. Another GLPO that classifies me in the developing stage is The student expresses his/her perspective on situations, event, issues, or phenomena and identifies various influences on that perspective. This task was completed because I provided my audience with my strong belief. Also, I gave my audience the day I realized this belief and how it influenced my life. Hopefully one day I will be in the Advanced section to becoming a Global Leader. 3. What skills and concepts were learned throughout the process of completing this artifact? How has process of completing this artifact affected your future? With completing this essay I have learned new concepts and skills. One of the skills I learned were writing a strongly structured essay on something I strongly believe in. I also learned what a clich was and how to avoid it for future essays. Another skill that I learned was using sensory detail. This skill will make my writing more interesting and believable. Another great skill that I learned was brain storming all my thoughts before starting to write. These two new skills I learned by completing this essay will greatly impact my future by improving my writing to make me a strong writer. 4. Looking back on the process of completing this artifact, what might you do differently if you were able to recreate or revise the final product? If I were able to revise the final project and recreate it I would have added a few more sensory details. Another thing I would have done was avoided clichs better. I only used one clich in my essay when I used the phrase smooth like butter. Another thing I would have done differently was structure my essay in a better order. One thing I would do differently net time is waste less time being confused on brainstorming my ideas. Also, I would make sure my belief and grammar makes sense so I dont have to rewrite my essay all over again. Next time I write an essay Im sure itll be a whole lot better.
