Short Film Contest


Rules and guidelines
We invite the citizens of the Four Districts (Cabarrus, Rowan, Stanly and Union Counties) to submit original short films that embody the themes, messages, and ideas found in Suzanne Collins The Hunger Games. Each short film must be a completely original work. Entries will be judged based on: Best costumes Best cinematography/technique Best sound/music Best overall production Final submissions are limited to an 8 minute length. Submissions over 8 minutes will be disqualified. Final submissions must be uploaded to Youtube, and shared to the following email address: communityread411@gmail.com. After submission, please send an email to communityread411@gmail.com with your name and contact info so we can contact you if you win the contest.

A Community Read and Games project in Cabarrus, Rowan, Stanly, and Union Counties.

Eligibility
Entrants must have a valid library card in Cabarrus, Rowan, Stanly or Union County. This contest is restricted to young adult patrons (grades 6 to 12). To submit work as a student, the entrant must be enrolled in grades 6-12 during the 2012-2013 school year (this includes home school students). ONE submission may be made by groups or sole individuals.

Important dates
All entries must be e-mailed by September 14th. Winners will be summoned to the Cabarrus Arena on October 13th to receive their awards and recognition by Capitol authorities. All winners will be notified before the Arena exhibition.

Prizes
There will be one winner chosen from all of the submissions. The Grand Prize Winner will win a FREE Hunger Games Tour courtesy of Copperline Tours. This tour will take you to see the actual scenes from District 12, the Arena, & the Capitol. Youll also be taken to the restaurants that were used and enjoyed by the cast and crew (dinner/lunch not provided).
