How to Copy and Paste From Internet Explorer to Microsoft Word

These instructions describe the process of copying a portion of a document you are viewing in your Internet Browser into Microsoft Word. This is useful if you want to print or save only part of an Internet document rather than the entire thing. Highlight/Select the text in your Browser that you wish to copy by holding down the left mouse button and dragging the cursor down the screen. When you have reached the last line you want to copy, release the left mouse button. 0. If you wish to highlight text beyond the immediate screen, continue holding down the left mouse button and drag the cursor onto the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. Additional text will become highlighted. When you have reached the last line you want to copy, release the left mouse button. Click on Edit (on the Menu bar) and then Click on Copy. 1. Click on the minus sign ( - ) at the top right of the screen to Minimize the window. 2. Click on the Start button, and choose Programs Microsoft Office Microsoft Word 3. Click on Edit at the upper left side of the screen. Click on Paste. The text copied from the Internet Explorer Browser will be pasted into Word. If you wish to copy additional text from the Browser into Word, follow steps 6-9. If you are ready to print, go to step 10. 4. Return to the Internet Explorer Browser by clicking on the blue Internet Explorer program icon at the bottom of the screen. 5. Repeat steps 1-2. 6. Click on the Word program icon at the bottom of the screen. 7. Click on Edit at the upper left side of the screen. Click on Paste. The text copied from IE will be pasted into Word. 8. To print the text in Word, click on the Print icon (or File -- Print). 9. When printing is finished, close Word by clicking on the X sign at the top right of the screen.
