Candidates must also make their own transportation arrangements to and from the SMILE office in Passaic. DURATION: Internships at SMILE are ongoing year round. However, each candidate is limited to a 3-month program. Candidates may re-new or re-apply for an additional 3 months in certain situations. HOURS: SMILE has a flexible schedule for interns around their school or work schedule. Interns are requested to contribute at least 8 hours per week and at most 20 hours per week during the 3-month program. Interns will be required to come in during at least one food pantry session per month from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of every month. COMPENSATION: This internship is unpaid. However, SMILE will provide a stipend for lunch for interns coming in for at least 4 hours on any given day. SMILE can also provide school credit for internship hours.
