    Instructions on How to Change your IE 8 Security Settings

    Internet Explorer (IE) 8 Settings for COGNOS Users


    It is recommended that COGNOS Users (Report Authors and Report Consumers) who are using Internet Explorer 8 check and change (if necessary) their IE 8 Security Settings. How to find out which Internet Explorer version you are using? a. Run/open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Internet Explorer. b. Press ALT + H, and then click About Internet Explorer.

    The following Security Settings should be set in IE 8 for Cognos Users (Authors and Consumers). Open Internet Explorer. Go to: Tools Internet OptionsSecurityLocal Intranet Under Security level for this zone, select Custom level

    Make adjustments to the following three options: Under Downloads

    Close Internet Explorer and then reopen to pick up the changes.
