James David Riggall 1984-2002 James David Riggall II, 18, a resident of Belen, died on Thursday, March 28.

James left behind a loving family, friends, and many loved ones. He was a senior at Belen High School, and, upon graduation, was already enli sted in the U.S. Army. His goal was to become a fighter pilot. James was the Com mitment Platoon Commander of the Belen Junior ROTC, served as the Company Execut ive Officer and was the Armed Drill Team Captain. James was a varsity athlete, playing football for four years, baseball for t wo years, and was a wrestler for two years. He was also an honor student and a S taters Club member. He was just advised that his poetry had been ranked in the t op five nationally and it was to be published later this year. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother and her husband, Jean a nd Bill Ray; and his maternal grandparents, John and Faye McCoy. James leaves behind his loving parents, David and Terri Riggall, of Meadow L ake; his sister, Oleita Darlene Riggall; adopted brother, Ryan Blank; his aunts, Kathy Hall of Veguita, Jackie Roberson of Las Vegas, Nev., and his adopted aunt , Myra May and son, Taz; his uncles, Joe Riggall and family of Fritch, Texas, Bi lly Riggall and family of Hereford, Texas, Verne Riggall and family of Sarasota, Fla., Kenneth McCoy and family of Amarillo, Texas; his paternal grandfather, Ve rne Riggall and family of Apopka, Fla.; and his adopted grandparents, John and V irginia Banto; and his love, Sarah Jones. A memorial service for James will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, at the Belen High School Gym with Chaplain Hobbs officiating. Burial will take p lace at Rest Lawn Cemetery in Hereford, Texas. In lieu of flowers, a memorial sc holarship fund has been set up in James Riggall's name at Ranchers Bank of Belen .
