Energy Time-of-Use Presentation

The Government of Ontario has mandated that all Ontarians pay for their electricity using Time-of-Use rates. These rates allow you to take advantage of lower electricity pricing, while helping the environment. All residential customers are now being billed with TOU rates.

Conservation Tips
Heating Check for drafts and air leaks. Caulking and weather-stripping are simple and inexpensive ways to reduce heat loss. Install a programmable thermostat and set it to reduce your energy use when you are away from home or sleeping.

For the cheapest rate, run major appliances before 7:00 a.m. or after 7:00 p.m. on weekdays or at any time on weekends Cold water washes save electricity 85 to 90% of energy used is to heat water Dont pre-rinse, only use when the dishwasher is full and use shortest cycle Air dry dishes instead of using the heating feature

Electricity Retailers
If you now buy your electricity from an energy retailer, you will continue to pay your rates according to the terms and rates agreed to in the contract you signed.

Rate Changes
Electricity prices change every six months effective May 1st and November 1st. Visit the Ontario Energy Board at www.ontarioenergyboard.ca for current rates.
