Phone Banking Campaign I have been informed that SEIU has started their campaigned this weekend.

They started phone banking and from what I heard they have approximately 30 Fresno County Employees making phone calls. We have been told on several occasions that SEIU Local 521 is on a deficit. I was not surprise to be honest with you. They invest so much money on fighting people that no longer want their service. They do not invest money on their members, no member appreciation, no purple stuff and no incentives or trips for ALL. They have Catherine Balbas, Organizing director and Gerry Villero, External Organizer leading this campaign. The main focus of their campaign is let you know that Fresno County Employees Association does not have what they have: Attorneys (they have them but they dont use them) I was once told that attorneys were too expensive. So they have access to attorneys but dont use them because they are too expensive ***FCEA will use them as needed, that is one of the reasons we pay our union dues to have fair representation*** Experienced Organizers (They have one that they use for 916 employees) Remember: We have over 18 work locations in Fresno County is One really enough? ***FCEA has an organizer with over 30+ years of experience. We are planning on bringing more once we decertify SEIU*** Research Team-Its good to know that they have a research team because until today I did not hear about them. I guess they felt that this team was not needed, no need to use them when we started negotiations last year when we were given the 9% wage reduction. Communication Department- Even with communication department information is not disseminated to the different work locations. Last week I spoke with several people who informed me that they had no idea that people were given money for going out on strike. They mentioned that it was not fair how some people are informed and others are ignored. When we first came out as FCEA we told people that this was going to be an ugly divorce. We are now there; these people are bad mouthing the movement. They will scare those who have signed the petition by providing them wrong information. I heard that they are going contacting people by phone and are then going to their homes to sign a document stating that they support SEIU. Is this really needed? Let us have an election, lets play fair. They have our dues monies to fight us. We are workers who want CHANGE we want our union dues moneys to stay local. We want to be member focused not for a corporation. We want change-They want $500,000+ a year that is what we pay them annually.
