RELEASE
NIKOLAS WYPA INVESTIGATION - UPDATE On June 4, 2012, emergency personnel were dispatched to Churchill Elementary School, 961 Porter Road, Norton Shores. Upon arrival, personnel learned that 6 year old Nikolas WYPA had collapsed on the playground during school activities. Although CPR was initiated almost immediately after he collapsed, Nikolas was sadly pronounced dead at a local hospital. Preliminary autopsy results indicate that Nikolas had ingested a small rock or stone. The stone became lodged in his larynx blocking his airway. Foul play is not suspected; however, investigators are attempting to determine how and why Nikolas ingested the rock. Anyone with information concerning this case is asked to contact Det. Anthony Nanna, Norton Shores Police Department, 231-733-2691.
