Q.1. What are at least three advantages and disadvantages of a larger executive team.

Team size and composition affect the team processes and outcomes. Determining whether the team is effective first requires identifying what needs to be accomplished. Advantages:

1. In large organizations, a senior leadership team comprised of more


leaders will fare better than one with fewer. The advantages include a greater likelihood of companywide buy-in of strategy and a better understanding of the business as a whole.

2. By applying supply-chain knowledge and quality processes, large


companies can take out cost instead of add it. Also it pays to work remotely. 3. By going into other companies and studying that business, larger organizations can recommend their own best practices as a service to the smaller organization. Disadvantages:

1. Understanding customers is also key. Not all customers know what they
want or need, so large organizations must educate customers about the wide array of products and services they provide.

2. Most people working in a Larger team unconsciously perceive the


situation as competitive. This generates behaviour which is destructive and drains the creative energy of the group.

3. Coordination costs are very high in large teams as management has to


spend a lot of costs to find and put together appropriate team members
