The recommendations contained within are based on existing traffic characteristics, roadway conditions, accident history, and speed zone surveys. EXISTING ROADWAY CONDITIONS Irwindale Avenue between Gladstone Street and First Street has a roadway width of 84° The roadway is improved with a curb, gutter, and sidewalk on both sides, Traffic is north/southbound with two ttavel-lanes and one parking-lane in each direction divided by a painted center-median/two-way lefi-tum lane. The segment is straight and level with no apparent visible obstructions contained with the roadway itself. Between Gladstone Street and First Street the segment is intersected at near equal lengths by Roosevelt Street, Paramount Street, and McKinley Street, minor side streets.
