YONKERS WORKFORCE INVESTMENT BOARD AWARDED NEARLY $300,000 GRANT AS PART OF NEW YORK YOUTH WORKS PROGRAM

Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano, on behalf of the New York State Department of Labor, announces the award of $297,600 in grant funds to the Yonkers Workforce Investment Board (WIB) tomorrow, June 12 at 11:45AM at the WIB office, 20 South Broadway, 11th Floor, Suite 1111. New York State Department of Labor awarded the Yonkers Workforce Investment Board (WIB) the grants for use of youth work training and placement of approximately 200 unemployed Yonkers youth aged 16 to 24. The New York Youth Works program provides $25 million in tax credits to benefit employers that hire unemployed youth within the next year, with the ultimate goal of permanent, unsubsidized employment. ***Interviews & Photo Opps***
