MONTHLY CRIME BULLETIN Burglary May 2012 Activity Summary: There were sixteen (16) burglaries reported in May, 2012. There were thirty-two (32) burglaries reported during the same timeframe in 2011. This is a 50% decrease from 2011 to 2012. Thirteen (13), or 81%, of the incidents involved residential locations. Ten (10) incidents, or 63%, involved unforced entry. Six (6) incidents, or 38%, were discovered on a Friday. Five (5) incidents, or 31%, were discovered between the hours of 0800 - 1159. Four (4) incidents are open for further investigation, one (1) has been closed cleared by arrest, eight (8) have been closed with leads exhausted, two (2) have been closed unfounded and one (1) has been closed due to victim refusal to cooperate. Historically, HPD has an average of 21 burglaries during the month of May with a current threshold of 10 to 32. This May, we were within the threshold with 21 reported burglaries. Forecast for June: The average number of burglaries for the month of June is 20 plus or minus 7.
