Annapurna Base Camp Trekking:

The shortest route to the Annapurna Base camp trekking is the trail up stream along the left bank of the modi khola river from nayapul (1070m/3840ft)running north, it leave the river after syauli bazaar (1170m/3840ft) climbing towards ghandruk but at khilu, half way to ghandruk a path branches out and runs back towards the modi khola, following it to new bridge (1340m4395ft)after which there is a steep ascent to chomoring (2170m/7120ft) the gate way to the sanctuary. An alternative approach to chomrong could be via ghardruk continue beyond kilu on the straight path to gahndruk, During the Annapurna Base camp trekking there is a path to chomrong; its involves a steep descent followed by an ascent a second alternative could be by way of landruk: a lighting at phedi (20km/12miles)from pokhara climb to dhampus (1700,/5580ft)and then on to bhichok deurali (2130m/6990ft)both places command superb mountain views. the trail now descends to landruk, and crossing the river, meets the new bridge route to chomrong. This is a longer but more scenic route. To enter the sanctuary safter completing the Annapurna circuit, ahead east from ghorepani through a forested path to tadapani ;the path descends and continues to chomrong. Beyond chomrong you enter the deep forested gorge of the modi khola there is no habitation here except for the clusters of trailside lodges. After 2-3 days you reach habitation here except for the clusters of trailside lodges. After 2-3 days you reach machhapuchhre base camp (3700m/12,135ft)just inside the sanctuary, Annapurna Base camp (4130m/13,550ft)the final destination is just 4 km/2.5 miles away. When descending you have the options beyond chomrong to retrace your step or choose one of the two alternative routes or even go on the ghorepani via tadapani, and head down to nayapul after enjoying the views from poon hill there.

Day Activities Day 01: Drive (6 HRS) or flight (25 Min) to Pokhara by bus or flight. Day 02: Pokhara to Thike Dunga: Day 03: Tikhe Dhunga to Ghorepani. Day 04: Ghorepani- Poon Hill to Tadapani: Day 05: Tadapani to Chhomrung Day 06: Chhomrung to Dovan or Himalaya Hotel. Day 07: Dovan - (Machhapurchhe Base Camp) or Annapurna Base Camp (Sanctuary). Day 08: Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo. Day 09: Bamboo to Chhomrung. Day 10: Chhomrung to Ghandrung, Day 11: Ghandrung to Pokhara,

Detail Itinerary
Day Day 01: Day 02: Activities Drive (6 HRS) or flight (25 Min) to Pokhara by bus or flight. Pokhara to Thike Dunga: Transfer to the starting point of the trek, Naya Pul. Take an easy walk along the sub-tropical Modi Khola River Valley to Birethanti (a large village on the old Nepal-Tibet trading route). Pass through the checkpoint before continuing through the intricately-terraced rice paddies. Day 03: Tikhe Dhunga to Ghorepani. This trail crosses a stream before ascending a steep, stone staircase to the large Magar Village at Ulleri (2070 m). The trail then winds through rhododendron and oak forests; across streams before making a short, final ascent to Nangethanti. From Nangethanti, the journey will trek up to Ghorepani (2850m). Day 04: Ghorepani- Poon Hill to Tadapani: Rise with the sun, ascending to Poon Hill (3195m) where an awe-inspiring sunrise greets observers from over the mountains. Clear climate permitting, experience a magical, panoramic view of the mountains of Dhaulagiri I (8167m), Annapurna I (8019m), and Manalsu (8156m). Also: views of the 6,000-meter-deep Kali Gandaki Gorge and the trans-Himalayan ranges are viewable - forming the border of Nepal with Tibetan China - making this one of Nepal most sought-after vantage points. After that, descend to the lodge for a late breakfast before continuing onto Ghorepani (2780m) - an important stop-over on the old trading route to Tibet. From Ghorepani, the walk is all downhill through beautiful forests before arriving at the village of Banthanti - finally ending the journey at Tadapani. Day 05: Tadapani to Chhomrung, Descends through additional rhododendron and oak forests, arriving at Chhomrung for a midday lunch. Chhomrung is a Gurung Village, and the highest permanent settlement in the valley with a tremendously vast view across to Annapurna South and Machhapuchhare. Day 06: Chhomrung to Dovan or Himalaya Hotel. Descends via a stone staircase, eventually crossing the Chhomrung Khola. Participants climb high above the Modi Khola, traveling its west bank, and pass through forests of bamboo, rhododendron and oak. This portion of the day trek is followed by yet another ascent to Kuldi before finally descending a long, steep, stone staircase to Dovan. Day 07: Dovan - (Machhapurchhe Base Camp) or Annapurna Base Camp (Sanctuary). From Dovan, the trail climbs high above the river, on to the lateral moraine, and down the other side to the glacier. This leg of the journey takes trekkers up the bed of the glacier before finally arriving at the Annapurna Base Camp (4237m) for an overnight stay. Day 08: Day Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo. Beginning with an early morning ascent for a stunning sunrise and breakfast, the journey returns to Bamboo for an overnight stay. Bamboo to Chhomrung. Descend a long, stone staircase through bamboo and

rhododendrons forests to Kuldi. Continues through beautiful rhododendron forests and down to Sinuwa. From Sinuwa, the trail leads downhill to the Modi Khola, closing the day with a steep climb to Chhomrung.

Day 10:

Chhomrung to Ghandrung, From Chhomrung, the trek heads back to Taglung descending gently through forests to Kummu. Once again, the journey passes Ghandrung offering, yet another, picturesque, panoramic view of Annapurna South before ending the days voyage with an overnight stay in Ghandrung.

Day 11:

Ghandrung to Pokhara, Trek downhill through villages and terraced fields to Syauli Bazaar, then onto Nayapul before being transported back to Pokhara for an overnight stay.
