From carboxylic acid

From alcohol
n= 1,2,3..

Carboxylic acid + alcohol ester + water

CnH2n+1COOCnH2n+1

First read from the alcohol component (ending with yl)

Follow the carboxylic acid Component ending with oate

CH3COOCH2CH2CH3 = propyl ethanoate CH3CH2CH2COOCH2CH3 = ethyl butanoate
