Latah County 4-H celebrates 100 years of youth development. MOSCOW, Idaho-Since 1912 4-H has grown to become the nations largest youth development organization. Its not just cows and corn anymore. 4-H offers a variety of programs that are fun and help youth develop skills they will need for the real world, said Kelli Loftus, associate 4-H extension educator for Latah County. Over the past 100 years 4-H has impacted over 60 million alumni, 512,000 volunteers, 3,500 educators and six million current youth. Latah county currently has 300 youth in their 4-H program and is planning on reaching out to smaller communities such as Troy and Deary. Latah County will be celebrating the anniversary by displaying historical pictures around the city, enjoying a birthday cake for 4-H at the county fair, building floats for the community parade and encouraging youth to participate in 100 hours of community service. Loftus is also hosting a Party like its 1912 event that is welcome to all 4-H members and the public. The program will include classes on robotics, scrapbooking and geocaching this summer. We are proud to help the community and build relationships through the 4-H program. We are looking forward to 100 more years and all the amazing things that will come with it, Loftus said. Sincerely, Lauren Rubin ### For more information please contact Kelli Loftus, Associate 4-H Extension Educator at (208) 883-2267
