What can you build out of junk thats been lying around your house?- The Latah County 4-H program will be hosting a Junk Drawer Robotics activity June 26. This activity involves building robotic projects out of old household items. Youth love building something from nothing and this is their opportunity to do so, said Kelli Loftus, Youth Development Coordinator for the Extension Office. (208) 883-2267 Geocaching comes to the Palouse-On July 10 the Latah County 4-H program will be hosting a geocaching activity for all ages. Participants will use a GPS system to find hidden objects in a surrounding area. The event will take place on the wetlands off of the Palouse highway near the Appaloosa Museum. Geocaching is a new way of teaching youth how GPS systems work and can be useful, said Cinda Williams, assistant at the Latah County Extension office. Summer calls for shooting and scrapbooking landscapes-A photography and scrapbooking activity will be offered on Aug. 14 hosted by the Latah County 4-H Program. This will give youth of all ages the chance to learn about different techniques and skills when it comes to taking photographs, said Melissa McDaniel, 4-H volunteer.
