PRECAUTIONS/ CARE TO BE TAKEN IN CASE OF PIPING THROUGH SUNKEN SLAB

A) DURING STRUCTURE WORKS During casting of the sunken portions, concrete to be properly compacted so as to avoid any honeycombing and voids in RCC slab.
The specified sunken depth mentioned in the relevant drawings to be maintained during casting so as to avoid any cutting or chiseling of RCC slab during laying of plumbing pipes.

If any honey combing in RCC is noticed, it is to be treated properly with water proofing chemicals/ injection grouting.
One number 50mm dia, 30-35 cm long medium grade GI/ UPVC pipe spout on downstream side towards shaft with Geo fabric filter on inside mouth to be provided in each sunken portion.

B) BEFORE LAYING PLUMBING PIPES
The water proofing coatings as per specs/ contract after thorough cleaning & protecting the same with protective layer of plaster. C) AFTER LAYING OF PLUMBING PIPES After laying the plumbing pipes and haunching the same by plumbing agency, the water proof coatings as per specs & protecting same with water protective plaster and making necessary Gola in plaster at the edges. The care to be taken that the water proofing layer does not get disturbed or chippped off during laying of services pipelines. The necessary testing by ponding in each sunken at least for 24 hrs.

Filling of sunken by sand and laying PCC over the same at the earliest after water proofing treatments.

D) DURING FLOORING WORKS
The joints of floors and skirting to be grouted properly so as to prevent the ingress of water through these joints.

The proper slope in flooring to be given (1:75) .


The floor slope to be checked so as to prevent standing of water on the floor.
