PROJECT ACCESS HANDICAP PARKING ENFORCEMENT SWEEP

Starting on Thursday morning at 7:00am, June 21, 2012 and ending at 10:00 pm that evening, members of all Albany County Law Enforcement Agencies will participate in a Project Access handicapped parking enforcement effort. Project Access is a coordinated law enforcement effort aimed at targeting motorists that are nondisabled and park illegally in spaces reserved for motorists with disabilities. This is the 49th saturation effort held in Albany County since the implementation of the program in December, 1994. During that period there has been a total of 2335 summonses issued resulting in $271, 570. 00 in fines levied. The goal of this one-day effort is to increase the awareness and compliance of handicapped parking laws. The results will be announced on Friday, June 22, 2012.
