Exercise 4: Chords

In this exercise you will be constructing Major, Minor, Augmented, and Diminished triad chords. There
will be three steps in this exercise. In Step 1 you will be identifying the chord type by the intervals. Step
2, you will be indentifying the chords by the numbers. And in Step 3 you will be building chords from a
designated note.

Step 1: Identify the chord type based on the intervals displayed. (Remember that the four chords use
combinations of major and minor thirds)

= Major Third +Minor Third = Major chord

= Minor Third + Major Third = Minor Third

Step 2: Identify the chord name based on the numbers

5-E = A minor

5# - F# = Bb Augmented

Step 3:
Build the chord from the designated note. Use both hand to play the chords
