    GTN TEXTILES ISO 9001&14001


    Started in 1966. First company to get ISO Certification. GTN has ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 integrated system. 600 employees. Capacity 58864 spindles and produces 9000 kgs/day. GTN converts raw cotton into high quality yarn.

    ISO INFORMATION FROM GTN TEXTILES


    In 1947 the delegates from 25 countries thought that it was necessary to standardize the process. In 1987 BSI they introduced guidelines in the 9000 series. In 1996 ISO 14000 series was introduced. 5000 experts from different fields were involved in forming the ISO 14000. 1100 standards are introduced every year. 8000 standard have been introduced so far.

    Each industrial will have a managerial representative who will be responsible for EMS. Companies with ISO 9001 can only get ISO 14001 certification. GTN has ISO 9001 and ISO14001 integrated system Certificates are issued for every three years. Auditing takes place every 9th month. Auditing is done by agencies like BVQ,KPMG,INTERTEQ. Auditing work of GTN textiles is done by INTERTEQ.

    IMPACTS OF ISO 14001


    GTN textiles have QEMP- Quality Environment Management Program. This program helps in analyzing whether the activities if the industry cause any harmful effect in the surrounding environment. for example : when the cotton bales are unloaded from the carriers do they create air, sound , water, land pollution. if they are creating they rated and at the end these rates are added up. If the rates are 1-20 then its not taken as harmful but above 20 it considered as harmful and corrective measures are taken.

    Meeting the manager of GTN textiles meet and discuss new program for improving the quality of the production process and the doing services to the society. The programs done till date planting of trees Rainwater harvesting
