20 June,

Summary: April 10, 1910; Pope St. Pius X had created new ecclesiastical jurisdictions in the Philippines, one of these was the Diocese of Lipa, Batangas A Century of Faith, a book celebrating 100 years of the Local Church of Lipa, tells a story that began long before that day and continues today (it will be launched on today) A Century of Faith celebrates stories of the Batangas peoples journey in faith over the past 100 years. The book contains 315 pgs. of beautifully detailed photographs of churches, sacred images, and religious practices, which are complemented by the archdioceses own archival photos and documentations of events leading up to the centennial year held in 201011. Reaction: A book to represent a hundred years of existence on the field of religious teachings and structures is an achievement for conserving such tangibles and intangibles of Lipa. It would serve as a good reference for those who wish to conserve and bring back the memoirs of such treasure in the Philippines. It seemed appropriate if all heritage sites and structures would have book for references like this one to have an archival compilation for future use. And maybe someday it would be known for its authenticity and effort for accumulating a solid proof of its existence. UST also had such reference and I hope the government would provide more financial and moral assistance for conservation projects. It is what defines us now so why not take hold of the past by the use of books.
