Essay writing Do you agree or disagree with the statement A person always acts in his own interest.

I strongly disagree with the statement "A person always acts in his own interest." In my view, none of the human being can be living for his own self interest. The following reason would support my opinion. Firstly from the social point, human is a social animal and can not live without the support of another person. Hence, he is a member of the society he belongs, he need to take part in the social activities which include other members and ultimately should work towards the wellness of the whole society. As, he need to interact with the people for everything, automatically a bond will be made with the society which is unavoidable and he need to take the interest of the society also. Furthermore, he has the responsibility in the society like taking care of his immediate surroundings and inside the family like providing good education to the kids, to create a happy environment among them and so on. Hence, among these responsibilities where he can act only for his own self interest. Of course, it is not possible and even if he try otherwise he may need to face problems of being so, which may definitely retard his enjoyment in life. Secondly from the psychological point, every human need to interact or work with somebody to vent his inner problems like emotional out bursts, worries, anxiety and so on. Otherwise, he will get conflict among the inner-self which may lead him as a prey for the various psychological disorders. Furthermore, he needs to adjust and in sometimes need to compromise a lot for looking only for his own interest. This may affect his personality where it may deviate from the normal behavior. Thirdly from the logical point also, the human cannot be living for his own self-interest. Hence, his interest, aim or any motive cannot be completed without having the interaction with the society. All the way he will be isolated himself and it is not possible for him to manage his emotional conflicts if he is so. For these reasons, I would say that a person is not acting to his own interest.
