MINUTES OF THE BOARD July 28, 2008 The Canadian Independent School District Board of Education met in special called session with the Hemphill County Commissioners on Monday, July 28, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the School Administration Building. Those present were: Mitch Ashley, presiding, Salem Abraham, Larry Gatlin, Allen Hadaway, John C. Isaacs, Ken King, Superintendent, Frank Belcher, Canadian Record reporter, Laurie Brown, City Manager, Colby Waters, County Commissioners, Joe Schaef, Lynard Schafer, Ed Culver and John Ramp, Mark Meek, Sally Henderson, Jim Pollard and April Dillon. Randy Walser and County Judge Steve Vandiver were absent. INVOCATION Mr. Ashley gave the invocation. DISCUSSION ITEMS The Board discussed with the County Commissions and City Manager the possibility of joint projects such as the WCTU/Library and other projects. CONSIDER PRICING FOR BAKER LIBRARY PROJECT Mr. Isaacs moved to accept the price of $238,012.50 for the Baker Elementary Library Project. Mr. King seconded the motion. It passed 6-0. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. The next regular board meeting will be Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at 6:30 p.m.
