CANADIAN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT 800 Hillside Canadian, Texas 79014-3299 MINUTES OF THE BOARD September 28, 2009

The Canadian Independent School District Board of Education met in special called session on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. in the School Administration Building. Those present were: Mitch Ashley, presiding, Salem Abraham, Randy Walser, John C. Isaacs, Allen Hadaway, Ken King, Superintendent, Frank Belcher, Business Manager, Cindy Moore, And Canadian Record Reporter, Jason Turner. Larry Gatlin was absent.

INVOCATION Mr. Ashley gave the invocation. PUBLIC COMMENT There was no public comment. MINUTES Mr. King moved to approve the minutes of the September 15, 2009 regular called meeting as published. Mr. Isaacs seconded the motion. It passed 6-0. REPORTS/DISCUSSION ITEMS A public hearing to discuss the proposed 2009 tax rate was held. CONSIDER/APPROVE 2009-2010 BUDGET Mr. Abraham moved to approve the 2009-2010 amended budget as proposed. Mr. King seconded the motion. It passed 6-0.

CONSIDER/APPROVED 2008 TAX RATE Mr. Hadaway moved to approve the resolution setting the 2009 tax rate of $1.23 per 100 dollars of valuation, of which .20 is for the purpose of maintenance and operation and 1.03 for the purpose of payment of principal and interest on interest & sinking funds. Mr. Abraham seconded the motion. It passed 6-0. CONSIDER/APPROVE BUDGET AMENDMENTS There were no addtional budget amendments to be made. EXECUTIVE SESSION The Board did not enter into executive session.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. The next regular board meeting will be Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at 6:30 p.m.
