    Visualizing Lesson: The Salamander Room by Anne Mazer

    As you read the story, stop after the following quotes and have students share their mental images. Collect ideas and add to anchor chart. Do not show students the pictures until after they have imagined in their own minds.

    I will carpet my room with shiny wet leaves and water them so he can slide around and play.

    I will make him a salamander bed to sleep in.
