The Deputy Ombudsman (Visayas) DA Regional Office No. 7 Compound Guadalupe, 6000 Cebu City Subject: CPL No.V-11-0973 Sir: May I request your Graft Investigator handling the above-captioned case to look into the ownership of three (3) units, namely Units 36, 37 and 38, in the El Grande Subdivision, Alta Tierra Village, Jaro, Iloilo City which was reported in the local media as formerly owned by City Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog after thieves broke into the residential property the other night. The property, according to media reports, is being occupied by a certain John Kenneth Griengo, a nephew of Ma.Victoria G. Mabilog, wife of Mr. Mabilog. I believe that it would be in order for this Honorable Office to subpoena the certificates of title over the properties from the Iloilo City Register of Deeds and determine its ownership from the time it was sold by the developer. The Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) of Mr. Mabilog from 2004 to 2010 do not reveal these three (3) units of town houses in his list of properties owned.
