REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR PRINTING OF BANK NOTES

1.0 Bank of Tanzania has set aside funds for various activities during
financial year 2008/2009. It is intended that part of the said funds
will be applied to cover eligible payments under a contract for
printing currency notes of various denomination to meet the
payment requirements of the United Republic of Tanzania.

2.0 The Bank of Tanzania now invites reputable and experienced firms
world - wide to express their interests in providing the above
mentioned services. Interested firms must submit their technical
profiles and experience in similar assignment and have to show
proven capability to carry out the services. The firms must be
registered with respective regulatory bodies or authorities in their
countries of origin.

3.0 A firm will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in
the Public Procurement Act No. 21 of 2004 and the Public
Procurement Regulations, 2005.

4.0 It should be noted that this is NOT a request for technical or

financial proposal. However, interested firms are expected to
 submit information that will enable the Bank to form an opinion on
their technical competence and financial capability. Only firms
with demonstrated experience and excellent track record in similar
assignments will be considered for shortlisting through letters of
invitation including specific Terms of Reference.

5.0 The deadline for submission of the Expression of Interest is Tuesday

13th January 2009 at 12.00 hours Local time. Expression of Interest
shall be opened and read in public immediately thereafter.
Electronic and late submissions shall not be considered for
shortlisting irrespective of any circumstances.

6.0 Prospective firms are requested to submit their expression of Interest

in plain sealed envelope marked “EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR
PRINTING OF BANK NOTES” to:
