    How to be a good programmer?


    If you are a beginner, learn C first. Buy the book The C Programming Language by Brian W. Kernighan and Dennis M. Ritchie (If you dont know who they are, do this 1. Slap yourself 2. Google their names). This book is not the easiest but is the best. Its a small book but it is the most powerful. Generations of programmers have been brought up on it. And if you think this book is tough for you, please do not harbour any misplaced desires of being a very good programmer. Programming is an art (not a science. Yes you read it correctly), and like any art it requires painstaking effort.

    Listening to this we have got an idea of conducting a small competition among our friends.

    WHAT I HAVE TO DO TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COMPETITION?


    If you are really interested to participate you just have to

    do the following things. i. Give your email id so that we will be sending the questions(that include in depth knowledge of the programming languages) ii. You need to compile the given questions or go through web and send the answers with explanations. iii. You will be given 2 or 3 days to send your answers and on the 3rd day we will send the answers with correct explanation. iv. Those who will send the maximum correct answers will be announced as the winner and will be awarded prizes in the auditorium.

    WHY I HAVE TO PARTICIPATE?


    The only reason to participate in this competition is to

    grab out the programming skills that were having with us. This type of questions will make the seeds in our brain to sprout out. By going through the given questions for 15-30 min daily will make you to get command over all the programming languages that you have already learnt and also that we are going to learn. You can share your ideas and discuss on the topics given with your friends. You will be eligible for finishing school from the next academic year if you participate actively.
