INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIPLOMA IN NETWORKING

DITN2 NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE PLANNING SEMESTER1 PRACTICAL 1

After preparing your network infrastructure, that is, installing your server and client machines, you are required to complete the following:

1. Configure IP addressing on all clients and your server. Test if the IP setup is working. 2. Join all clients to the network domain. Once all clients are joined, move client objects to an OU named Win7Computers. Review the properties of client objects. 3. Configure remote desktop. Test if this setup is working. 4. Ensure that you have at least configured 10 user accounts located in an OU named domainNameUsers. Test if you can use these user accounts to log on to the domain. 5. Promote your server to DHCP role. Configure the scope and use the correct range. Assign a static IP address, which means that this IP address and some others must be excluded in your IP pool. Authorise your DHCP and activate your scope. Ensure that the DHCP lease is 8 days. Do not configure any DHCP options. 6. Configure all your clients to obtain IP via DHCP
