Growing Your Hair Using Braid Extensions...

Get the Maximum Growth ---------------------------------------------------------------------Whether the hair is in a weave, extensions, natural or relaxed, the three most i mportant component to growing healthy hair is keeping it clean (water), deep con ditioning (protein), and moisture (flexibility) Braid extensions, synthetic ones, come coated in a chemical. This chemical strip s the hair of its natural moisture, which can lead to dryness and eventually to brittle hair and breakage. In order to strip the extension of this coating, you should take the entire braid out of the package and submerge it in a bowl of app le cider vinegar. Let it sit for a few minutes and then rinse it under cool wate r. Soak 15 minutes, rinse, air dry. Spray braid spray on this hair piece by piec e when apply to your hair. The alkaline base irritate the scalp in some. ****Clean There are several ways to effectively wash extensions without causing too much d amage to them. TIP: You can shampoo your scalp daily for faster hair growth in braid extensions . If you are concerned with your braids not looking presentable because of daily scalp shampooing, shampoo your scalp daily by massage and sponge wash your brai ds. Sponge washing will help keep your braid style neat. If your braids still ar en't looking presentable, then shampoo at least weekly the scalp and the braids--massage scalp and sponge wash the braids. 1.One option is to pour a couple of teaspoons of shampoo and apple cider vinegar in a cup, then fill the cup with water. While in the shower, run your head unde r the water and then pour the shampoo/ACV concoction directly onto the scalp, th en lightly massage the scalp only. 2.Another option is to fill a 4 oz bottle halfway with water then add a squirt o r two of shampoo and a teaspoon of ACV. Then, while in the shower, spray the sca lp directly with the concoction. You' ll see the results when you take the extended hair out. ********************************** To saturate your braid extensions thoroughly with these 2 products, add Infusium 23 leave-in hair strengthener and African Royale Braid Spray--Or African Pride to a large ceramic bowl and sponge on thoroughly with a sea sponge. See saturati on demonstration below. *************** Since build Up is more prominent above the ears and the last row in the back/nec k, Every 2 weeks, redo at least 2-3 braids in these sections. Build up is when you start to feel the base of the braid matte where the new gro wth is coming in. The more silkier the hair, the more possible build up in these areas, but anyone who plans to wear extensions for 2 months should redo these areas every 2 weeks to avoid extreme build up. Build Up From Braids When you get to the scalp base, there may be a small build up, with your fingers , move the section back and forth gently until it begins to loosen up. There sho uld not be a excessive build up if you used the braid spray sparingly on your sc alp. When it loosens up, begin to separate this section with your fingers. It sh ould not be too difficult. After you've separated this area, begin to comb throu gh. Avoid a fine toothed comb. The smallest comb should be medium sized. Repeat this with the remainder of your braids.

Here is a video of taking out extreme build up. Massage the build up to loosen, then take small amounts of strands from the side s of the matte. Your hair should slip out of the build up if you have used the braid spray and I nfusium 23 on your Braid Extensions daily. (not on the scalp daily) Shredded hair along with the matte will be removed and healthy new hair remains. ******************************** Use a mild shampoo and squeeze your twists to shampoo with diluted shampoo. See description below Pour streams of diluted shampoo and warm water from a large cup over your braid extensions twists, or braids. Squeeze with a sponge to shampoo and rinse. Towels squeeze; after your hair has stopped dripping, add your liquid hair strengthene r and your braids spray all over your hair. Only add the strengthener and braid spray to the scalp each time you shampoo. You can add these 2 products daily to

your actual braids or you can simply add the braid spray whenever needed. To sat urate your braids thoroughly, use a sponge full of liquid hair strengthener and/ or braid spray over a bowl. Squeeze the sponge throughout your braids. NOTE: Your braids will stay in the best condition if you shampoo this way and ad d these 2 products when needed for braid nourishment. When you take out your bra id extensions, your hair will be in very good condition instead of dry and weak.

Shampooing Relaxed, Wavy & Straight Hair Natural Twists 4a 4b Hair Hair that is 1-5 inches. Avoid shampoo your hair the traditional way. If your hair is 1-5 inches simply s hampoo and condition. Avoid manipulating your hair all over your head. This will cause uneccsary breakage. Hair that is 5 inches or longer. Have your hair already combed out in big sections-in large loose braids. Keep th ese braids in your hair. Since your hair is 5 inches or longer, to prevent exces sive breakage and to make your shampoo and comb out easier, run water from the s hower over your large loose braids. Pour at least two caps full of the shampoo i nto a large cup. Add water until it's half a cup full. Swish around and pour ove r your braids. Squeeze your hair to lather. Rinse your hair from the shower and repeat-then Squeeze the excess water out with a towel. Avoid manipulating your l oose braids all over your head. (this will cause breakage) just squeeze your hai r with your towel. Deep conditioning hair that is 5 inches long or longer Take one braid down at a time and add conditione, then rebraid. Squeeze out the excess water. Now place a plastic cap over your head. Dry off. Do one of the 2, 1. Wrap a large towel around your plastic cap that is placed on your head for 60 minutes or 2. With your plastic cap on, sit under a dome/hooded dryer, heating cap or hair steamer for 30 minutes. Rinse out conditioner while the loose braids are still i n your hair. Take down one section at a time and add strengthener and your favor ite oils. Air dry, style. Infusium 23 Repair and Renew Leave-In Treatment is a very good strengthener and any mild shampoo Use a hair strengthener such as Infusium 2 (with a little water added if too str ong) Use a Braid Spray like African Royale Or African Pride Saturate your braids this way. **Cornrows that are extensions should only remain in your hair for 2 weeks at a time because they become severely matted if left in longer.
