1) Librarian (Acquisitions Section)

The successful candidate will support the Acquisitions Section in the following duties: - Providing management & administrative support to the Section Head, to ensure the smooth operation & delivery of all Acquisition functions & services - Supervising staff & providing support in the ordering, receipting, claim generation & monitoring & withdrawal of books & media materials - Managing library events & projects such as Book Fairs, etc. - Managing vendors performance & ensuring compliance to Service Level Agreements - Record keeping, filing, maintaining & documentation procedures

2) Librarian (Cataloguing Section)

The successful candidate will support the Cataloguing Section in cataloguing of resources in all formats. Knowledge of AACR2 and MARC21 is essential. A good command of the Chinese language and knowledge of Hanyu Pinyin Romanization system is also required.

3) Librarian (Reference Section)

The successful candidate will support the Reference Section in the following duties: - Managing, developing & promoting the use of library resources & information services. Knowledge of reference & information soruces both print and electronic is essential - Handling reference enquiries - Conducting research skills sessions to promote information literacy - Developing course & e-learning courseware contents - Collection development of library resources

Pre-requisites:

A Degree preferably in Science/Business/Engineering/Computer Science. A recognised professional qualification in Library & Information Science will be an advantage Relevant working experience will be an advantage Strong customer service orientation Good communication skills both oral and written Conversant in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint Team leading ability with good interpersonal skills Strong administrative and analytical problem solving skills

4) Management Support Officer (Circulation Section)

The successful candidate will support the Circulation Section in the following duties: Providing management & administrative support to the Manager, to ensure the smooth operation & delivery of all Circulation functions & services Support Manager in planning, developing, reviewing & improving Circulation operations, policies & procedures according to ISO9001 guidelines Monitoring security & discipline issues Supervising & train staff in providing quality customer service at Circulation Counter Managing outsource vendors performance & ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements Responsible for Librarys facilities management and maintenance matters Assist Manager to prepare preparing annual budget proposals for Circulation & administration of allocated budget Responsible for good record keeping and filing, maintain and document procedures of Circulation Section Provide Circulation/Information service

5) Management Support Officer (Reference Section)


The successful candidate will support the Reference Section in the following duties: - Maintenance Library Home Page and Specialised Databases - Create online fliers & posters to support library publicity programmes - Arrange inter-library loans & document supply services - Collection development of books & media resources to support specific Schools/Divisions - Provide administrative support to Reference Section - Provide Information/Circulation service

Pre-requisites:

A Polytechnic Diploma (or equivalent), preferably in library studies Relevant working experience will be an advantage Strong customer service orientation Good communication skills both oral and written Familiar with MS Word, Excel or PowerPoint Team leading ability with good interpersonal skill Strong administrative skills Familiar with Web publishing software & Web graphic editor tool (for Reference position)
