COMPANY PROFIL

Shoppers Stop is one of the leading retail stores in India. Shoppers Stop began by operating a chain of department stores under the name Shoppers Stop in India. Currently Shoppers Stop has twenty seven (27) stores across the country and three stores under the name Home Stop Shoppers Stop has also begun operating a number of specialty stores, namely : Mother Care Crossword Book Stores Brio Desi Caf Arcelia In April 2008, Shoppers Stop changed its logo and adopted the mantra "Start Something New Shoppers Stop was promoted by the K Raheja Corp Group (Chandru L Raheja Group). Started with its first store in Andheri, Mumbai in the year Oct, 1991 with the investment of Rs. 20 lacs. Shoppers Stop Ltd has been awarded "the Hall of Fame" and won "the Emerging Market Retailer of the Year Award", by World Retail Congress at Barcelona, on April 10, 2008 Shoppers Stop is listed on the BSE. In Bangalore : 1995 In Hyderabad: 1998, with the largest area of 60,000 Sq, ft. New Delhi and Jaipur : 1999 For regular customers, launched First Citizens Club(FCC) with 60,000 odd members.

Scope of the study

1) The study is helpful to understand the shopping experience of the consumers at retail stores. 2) The study is helpful to understand the loyalty building programmers. 3) The study is helpful is to understand the departmental performances, staff ability to maintain long term relationship with customers. 4) The study is helpful to understand the customers behavior at retail outlets.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

1. RESEARCH DESIGN: Descriptive Quantitative Research The Research involves understanding of various concepts of Brands and labels in the Organized Apparel Retailing, measuring who drives retail sales, what is the impact of Private label and National Brand on consumers buying behavior and how Private labels affect National Brands. Since insight on brands and labels and who, what, how are being addressed in this research, the Research Design to be used would be Descriptive Research. The primary data collected from consumers, Private label and National Brand would be quantified. Hence it would be Descriptive quantitative research. 2 .SOURCES OF DATA: 1. Primary Data: The Primary data will be collected using survey as a mode of data collection. To conduct surveys separate sets of structured questionnaire would be prepared for Consumer, Retailers and National Brand. 2. Secondary Data: The secondary data shall be collected from various Publications of Apparel and Retail Trade Associations like Clothing Manufacturers Association of India, Retailers Association of India. The facts, figures and statistics on Retail and Brand shall be explored through Books, Magazines, Journals, Periodicals and internet. The internal store data related to customer loyalty shall be gathered from various retail stores.

Sample Size

1) Among all the customers, a sample size of 100 will be selected. 2) In these 100 customers for better understanding of customer behavior, it is divided into 4 types of age groups. the age groups are :- 15 to 25 , 26 to 35 , 36 to 45 , or 45 above.

SAMPLING TYPE: The sampling type for the consumer survey would be Stratified Random Sampling method. The Retailer and the National Brand survey would be conducted using Judgmental sampling method.

Conclusions
Shoppers Stop is the oldest Retail Chain in India.

Despite of high prices of products, they manage to attract the customers because of their good marketing strategies. They are the only retail chain in India who provides the best and no. of products as compared to others. The company intends to bring the worlds best retail technology, retail practices and sales to India
