There is a difference between micro, macro, AND close-up photography. Micro photography must be taken through a microscopic lens, whereas macro photography is taken through a macro lens. Good luck getting these results through a macro lens, because it isnt going to happen. Close-up photography is taken through a normal lens, just positioned close to the subject. It doesnt show anywhere near the detail a macro or micro lens would.
24. Richard A. Alexander says: December 29, 2010 at 7:09 pm Are the colors natural or added in/enhanced? Beautiful and fascinating photos either way.
25. Chris Fisher says: January 3, 2011 at 9:07 pm These are mostly all scanning electron micrographs (SEMs) and are really, usually in B&Wthe color is pseudo-color and therefore misleadingthese colors do not really reflect nature.

Thanks a million and please keep up the rewarding work.
32. Russ Miller says: February 4, 2011 at 3:35 pm I agree with Chris Fischer the colors must have been added. Electron Microscope pictures are greyscale, because the beam of electrons doesnt reflect differently based on the color of the target, and theres no color data in the electron beam. Very beutiful enhansements, though.
