DANCE TO A LIVE BAND

The Wild Road Band New Raymer Community Center - 9 pm to 1 am
All proceeds from the day will go to a help Kylans family with medical expenses.
Kylan was born July 12, 2011, to proud parents Trevor and Kristin Nienhuser. He was also welcomed by the best big sister Jaylee (3). Kylan was a very healthy baby boy who loved to eat and cuddle. He had the world wrapped around his tiny little finger - until his world was turned upside down. On September 13, 2011, Kylan was rushed to the ER by his mommy after his first day of daycare at the age of 9 weeks. He was immediately diagnosed with head trauma and transported by the Flight for Life helicopter to Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children in Denver. After many tests he was diagnosed with Shaken Baby Syndrome. He spent a very long 2 weeks in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit fighting for his life. There were days and nights filled with many seizures, many medications, and many machines hooked up to his helpless little body. There were days when the medical staff used the term if you go home with him when beginning to explain something. Kylan was fortunate to return home after 3 weeks. The full extent of his brain injury is unknown as only time will tell. Right now Kylan is amazing everyone with his miraculous progress and the hope is that the uninjured parts of his brain will fill in the gaps left by the trauma. A normal, healthy, happy little boy is what we all hope and pray for. Because Kylans mom had to quit her job they lost their health insurance and have been denied new coverage. Proceeds from the benefit will go to help the Nienhusers cover medical and personal expenses incurred when their world was turned upside down by this senseless act.
