11 July 2012 Edition Presidents Report from Natalie Jupe

Hi Everyone, What a great meeting we had last week with Anne Pratt from Home in Queanbeyan as our Guest Speaker. She came along with her colleague Nola Paten. We have even arranged to have a visit to Home in Queanbeyan and have a Pizza Feast with the staff and residents there later in the year. It is so interesting to hear about the amazing facility that is available to people in our community who need the assistance. Be sure to visit their website http://homeinqueanbeyan.org/ Since this week is our first Board Meeting of the new Rotary year, there will be lots to cover so we hope you can make it and help us plan and discuss so many important things for the year ahead. Natalie

Joke of the Week
As I was admitted to the hospital for a procedure, the clerk asked for my wrist, saying, "I'm going to give you a bracelet." "Has it got rubies and diamonds?" I asked coyly. "No," he said. "But it will cost just as much."

Friendship Beyond Club Functions (FBCF) You might have noticed a few FBCF events listed in our calendar in the upcoming months. This was an idea discussed at the President Elect training earlier this year. It is purely a chance for Rotarians, friends and family to have a social outing of some kind (other than socializing at club functions). Our first two FBCF events are a trip to the movies in August and a Coffee & Cake morning tea in October. We will see how these first two go, and if successful we will try to have a FBCF event ever few months. If you have any suggestions for what types of outings we should host, please let us know.
