INTRODUCTION: Time cannot be managed, what you can manage is the way you use your time. This fresh approach to this subject looks at these two issues. What to do How to do it You will learn the difference between : Efficiency and effectiveness : Importance and urgency

And how to use this knowledge to make time your friend, not your enemy.

GOOD TIME MANAGEMENT: Good time management can be done by, Give more time to do what you want to do Improve availability for matters Improve decision making Improve efficiency, effectiveness, productivity Make you easier to work with Reduce stress SPEND TIME ON RESULTS - NOT EFFORTS: You need to spend your time actually achieving things. Achievement makes people feel good and motivates them to work better. Most of the time and effort we spend when we work towards a goal is wasted- it produces very little result relative to the attainment of that goal. Therefore working smart and not hard will increase productivity. EFFECTIVE AND EFFICIENT PRIORITISING:

Effectiveness means being productive and Efficiency means functioning. In time management terms, it is all about doing things in the right way. UNDERSTANDING IMPORTANCE AND URGENCY: People usually prioritize things in order of their importance and urgency but just because something is important it doesnt mean its urgent. Simply use your common sense to find out the things which should be done immediately. DEALING WITH PAPER WORK AND ADMINISTRATION: Often people are poor at filing and this can cost valuable time. Solution for this is to create a day file and file paper should be in appropriate folders. The things that you should file are, Agendas for meetings Documents needed for an appointment Letters that should be replied and sent on certain date Things that to be done on that date Social invitations Maps and directions for getting to an appointment DEALING WITH PROBLEM PEOPLE:

In time management two types of people are unmistakable because they cause majority of problems. They are at two extremes., Perfectionist Procrastinators Problem with perfectionist: Trying to be perfect can stop people from feeling satisfied and motivated. In extreme cases it can also prevent people from achieving! Problem with procrastinator: People always delay something that they should do usually because they dont want to do it. Gets some minor task to avoid or delay starting important ones. They ignore things in the hope that they will go away. CONCLUSION: Time management is the most important thing in every task and in every ones life. Now a day all people are busy. This book gives some suggestions and tips to make proper use of available time. In this book each chapter concentrates on different area associated with time management. Time simply can be managed, it cant be controlled, increased, decreased, speed up, slow down or extended. It is all about making proper usage of time. It says about what to do and how to do. It also gives differences between effectiveness, efficiency, important

and urgency of task. The author says that we have to spend time on results- not efforts. TIME AND TIDE WAIT FOR NONE TIME IS PRECIOUS
