Evening Program Committees

Second Session 2009

COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS Casino Night: During Casino Night, we turn the rec lodge into our own GG casino. Goldfish, GummiBears, and Juice are provided to all the young gamblers as they play classics like blackjack, poker, and roulette. Some of the regular games weve played in the past have become stale though, we want some updates. As well, we usually have fortune tellers in ridiculous costumes and some sort of manufactured cave (usually with tarp or somesuch). -Finding good fortune tellers -Deal or No Deal MINI -Two Up -Cocktails D&Ts Individual Prizes (Nerf Basket/Squirtgun/Raft/) Individual camper cards sum to Cabin Cards Jukebox World Records: Campers move between different stations freely while attempting to beat previous records set, as well as setting standards for the night. Ones were keeping are: pair volleyball, longest talking, long jump, baseball throw, football throw, 3 point shoot, free throw shoot, and watermelon spit. Invent us some new world record events, and try to come up with a few non-athletic types like the watermelon spit and talking. -Long distance water balloon -Longest talking -Fastest water chug -Fastest fifty states -Fastest Cup Stack -Fastest Math Equation -Fastest Bases Backwards -Fastest Bed Making -Frisbee Throw Carnival Night: Essentially, we put on a carnival. A cookout style dinner is served. Besides activities we send out for like a moon bounce, a dunk tank, and a bungie run; we have a big body slide, face painting, and a balance beam joust. There are some other activities that have traditionally been around, but the boys have lost interest in them, sometimes leading to problems later in the night. Come up with some new carnival style games we can set up. -Ping Pong Ball Cup Throw -Boot Throw

Pirate Night: The packet youve been given if youre in this group has much of what you need to know, and most of you probably saw and participated at the Greenwoods one, but now we want to improve. We saw what worked and what didntwe need input as to what we can change and make better about the program. -Color Eye Patch, Some sort of Team Identifier -Certain Activities are for Certain Ages -New Event in place of pull -Riddle -Word Bunk Challenge: In their cabin groups, campers go between stations such as soccer shootout, sock wrestle, and shoe relay attempting to get the highest score in each event. Again, like some of the other rotation style programs, some of the events have gotten old, or the kids have found clever loopholes (human pyramid, human knot). Brainstorm some new events to keep things interesting. -River of Fire -Boards -Balloon Circle -Water Balloons -Spoon Pass -Spoons -Buckets -Water -Catapault? What Kind? Special Activities: This isnt really an evening program, but part of the program nonetheless. We need activities for times like free-choice and rest hour. We want things like ping-pong tournaments, and earth ball activities. Go wildget really organized with some (soccer games), or really simple with others (puppy chow). -Card Tournaments
