Customer Service and System Operations

Greetings to the family and friends of the Customer Service and System Operations Marines. You should be extremely proud of the accomplishments our Marines have done. They took on the unknown challenges of this deployment with vigor and enthusiasm. During the first two months alone, units saw in increase in support due to your Marines efforts.

We continue to push as we near the end of our deployment and look forward to the time when we will all be reunited. Until then, we will focus on the mission at hand and continue to keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers.

Greetings from Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan History continues being written, and your Marine is being part of it. The MAGTF Materiel Distribution Center (MMDC) Marines continue their mission of distributing needed supplies and equipment to units aboard Camp Leatherneck and the many Forward Operating Bases (FOB). Their proficiency, hard work and supporting effort is being of tremendous contribution to the level of readiness of the deployed units and the War-fighters operating in the Helmand Province Afghanistan. They have also provided distribution support to the Afghanistan National Army in efforts to develop their critical infrastructure. Your Marine continues gaining valuable deployment experience which will benefit and prepare our younger generations. While the summer brought high temperatures, the practice of good ORM has kept us from any heat related incidents. Please continue providing them your loyal moral support, it wont be long before you see them returning home safe and sound. CWO2 Odin Pineda

Greetings from SMU Fiscal The Marines of SMU Fiscal are hard at work performing causative research on document numbers to determine if corrective action is required to adjust the commitment, obligation, expense and/or liquidation amount of a document. The funds accumulated from cancelled requisitions allow units in theater the opportunity to procure the essential and critical items necessary to complete their mission through the supply system or the Government Commercial Purchase Card (GCPC). The GCPC is utilized in this section to procure the mission critical items that would take too long in the normal supply chain. The attention to detail and diligence required to manage the largest spending budget of the SMUs is reflective in the hard work performed by the Marines of Fiscal. Fiscal Marines look forward to the end of the deployment to enjoy time with the loved ones that are supporting us back at home .

With the retrograde and inventory right sizing efforts being done by Storage and the General Account, we have been fairly busy. The Marines of this section have been able to continue their PME, reach personal goals, martial arts training, etc, all while maintaining the Marine Corps highest fill rates for an intermediate supply account. As the OIC, this has been one of my most memorable deployments with on the best crews. We are looking forward to getting home and seeing our loved ones.

The Marines at the FOBs have worked extremely hard this

deployment supporting the infantry units and the retrograde operation.
