ACCESS at Showtime events Shows will take place in high streets, town centres and parks across the city, literally on your doorstep. Most events are highly visual with little dialogue. The Mayor of London has made sure that a selection of events offer audio description and touch tours. For the events that do use spoken word, BSL interpretation will be available at selected events throughout the programme. Audio description will be provided by VocalEyes. This captures the visual elements of a theatre piece, painting or environment that a blind or partially sighted person might otherwise miss and describes them in clear, vivid language. The describer watches the show whilst simultaneously describing the action. This description is broadcast live to members of the audience who have been issued with radio headsets. A designated access meeting point will be at each of the locations, where people can pick up and return AD headsets and get general information about the shows. A walking bus, which is a means of accompanying blind and partially sighted people to and from a local transport hub, will be provided where possible.
