The Upper Room is a hotline in support of our priests,

deacons, and religious brothers who need a lift when life gets troublesome. Now is the time to show our love and respect to these good men and help them in their time of need. Please register to help. Compassionate volunteers are always needed to keep the Line open and operative. A new training class for volunteers is beginning September 11th until November 1st and will meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 6:30 9:30 pm. Parish Picnic on Sunday, August 26th!

We will open with the 11am Mass in Dellwood Park at the Fine Arts Pavilion. All parishioners and friends are invited. Enjoy our tried and true favorite past times: the pie baking contest, the bingo pavilion, bean bag tournament, and other games run by the Dance Factory. Donations are being collected as prizes for our contests, tournaments and games. If you have something you can donate as a prize, please drop it off in the parish office or the Narthex. Feel free to include a business card or advertisement with your donation. We are looking for new or like new items for bingo prizes. For lunch, please bring a picnic lunch and beverages for your household AND side dish or dessert to share with others OR if you prefer, The Knights of Columbus will be providing hot dogs at the parish picnic for a free will donation. Hot Diggety Dogs! If you would like to enter a pie into the contest, bring it to the gazebo following the Mass. Judging will take place at 1:00 pm. Volunteers are needed! SACRAMENTS Dear Family, It is good to be back home here at St. Dennis. One of the highlights of my trip was a visit to the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France. I visited the Cathedral twice; once to enjoy its beauty and see the rose window and many chapels, second to attend Mass. I prayed for all of you and our parish as I attended Mass with hundreds of people from around the world. It was a unique experience to hear Mass read and sung in French. The other highlight of my trip was to see the fjords of Norway. There were magnificent mountains, waterfalls and beautiful scenery. I experienced the creative hand of God and the beauty of nature. Hospice Training: Palos Community Hospital will soon offer a hospice volunteer training session meeting on Wednesdays for six weeks from 1 to 5 pm. Training will prepare caring individuals to provide service to terminally ill patients and their families. Please call 630-257-1111 for more info.
