Hook
A Lobang King, a lovable flirt, a rebel with a cause and a constant ray of sunshine. As these four poly misfits find each other and themselves through hip-hop, can they survive?

Premise
Four students, who are not widely accepted in their respective classes, meet each other in a series of coincidences, and get to know each other through Dance Club. Using dance as a medium, they understand themselves and each other better. At the age where everything is uncertain, hormones rule, and problems are over-exaggerated, the four of them form an unbreakable bond and help one another through the ups and downs of poly and teenage life.

Characters
Main Characters
Khairul Ezzat bin Mohammad Hafiz [Khai] Khai, 17, is nicknamed the Lobang King for good reason. He is a wellconnected straight-As student who can get anything and everything at a discounted price. Known to have a flair for business but also a passion for media, he is in Singapore Polytechnic [SP] studying for a Diploma in Media and Communications [DMC]. He originally began dancing hip-hop as a hobby but finally took the step to join the Dance Club in SP when he entered, roping in his secondary school friend and best friend, Rashpal [Rash], with him. He has also developed a crush on Jaqueline. Khai comes from a poor family and is the eldest of 3 children; he has 2 younger sisters in secondary school and primary school. Their father passed away when Khai was 11, forcing him to mature earlier than his peers and take over the role of Man of the House. As such, he does outside business ventures [selling products he can get at a cheaper price for a profit] to help his mother support the family. Rashpal Singh [Rash pronounced rush] Rash, 17, is the lovable flirt who went by the nickname of The Legend during his secondary school days. He openly flirts with girls and often gets their attention due to his smooth talking and suave looks. But although he gets into relationships often, he breaks it off immediately once it begins getting serious

as he believes he is a free spirit, not meant to be tied down by a relationship. He also tends to speak too much and too loudly, with no sense of an indoor voice, sometimes annoying Jaqueline [Jaq] to bits. Rash is in SP studying for a Diploma in Creative Writing for TV and New Media [DTVM]. He only began dancing with Khai during the O-level holidays so he is still new to hip-hop. Rash comes from a large family. He is the youngest of five siblings (3 sisters and 1 brother), which makes him determined to find his individuality. His siblings have a very large age gap, so he is always finding comfort and company from both his friends and the girls he flirts with. Jaqueline Wong [Jaq] Jaqueline, 17, is the tomboyish rebel with a cause. She has a no-nonsense attitude and a confrontational way of dealing with problems. She is stubborn, fierce and is known to be the first to hit Rash when he gets out of line. Jaq studies Diploma in International Business in SP. Jaq values all her friends, but only as friends, unfortunately for Khai. She is unaware of Khais crush on her and continues to be close to him, oblivious to his pain. Jaq and Ellie are polar opposites that surprisingly bring out the best in each other, mellowing both their personalities. She gets annoyed by the things Rash says but is indifferent to his flirting because she knows how it feels to be oppressed, so she does not want to confine other peoples nature. Jaq took hip-hop classes in secondary school to vent her frustrations at home. Despite coming from an affluent family, she is tied down by her parents expectations of her, which included her going to Junior College [JC]. Jaq made a deal with her parents: she would go to the course with the lowest admission points in SP, but whatever she did outside her course was left to her own discretion. She does not like to show any evidence of her familys wealth, but her mannerisms and dressing indicate otherwise. Still, she enjoys the luxuries of having rich parents, taking whatever they give her without question, including her hip-hop lessons. Ellie Romain Ellie, 18, is the ray of sunshine and the baby of the group despite her age. She provides optimism for the entire group through their struggles in their new environment and teen angst. She is Khairuls confidante, Rashs best friend in class and Jaqs source of calm. She is the person that brings equilibrium to the entire group. Ellies Chinese mother and French father divorced when she was 7. Her mother had custody of her but left the family for another guy when she was 9. Ellies aunt adopted her and despite having just enough to get by, her aunt always tells her to look on the bright side of things, inspiring her to be

optimistic. Ellies father gives her allowance every month, but that is the extent of their relationship. Her only escape is through writing her experiences as journal entries or stories. This caused her to leave JC and transfer to SPs DTVM course. Her aunt stands by her decision, knowing she will make something out of herself through this course.

Supporting Characters
Mr. Ricky Tham Ricky Tham, 38, is the tough love lecturer in charge of the Dance Club. He is straightforward in his dealings with students and prefers to advise them from afar instead of directly helping them. He believes that teenagers should learn from their mistakes and solve their own problems. Candy Luna Luna, 25, of Indonesian-Chinese heritage, prefers to be called by her last name only. She is a dance graduate of NAFA but could not get a job in her area of expertise, ballet. She picked up hip-hop as she realized there was a demand for teachers in that field in Singapore. Luna is now the choreographer of SPs Dance Club. She is a perfectionist, and is always prim and proper, hardly the first choice for any hip-hop choreographer. However, she is dedicated and has attainable standards for her students. Nurul Aisyah Aisyah, 18, is the president of the Dance Club. She puts on an act in front of the teachers, sucking up to them to gain their trust. She is bossy and abuses her power as the dance president, often bullying Rash and giving her dance group more funding than the rest. Aisyah spites Khairul as she sees him as a threat to her position as dance president. She is always at loggerheads with Jaq and finds Ellie annoying. Aaron Liu Aaron, 18, is flamboyant, has a diva attitude and is one of Aisyahs cronies. He stays with Aisyah mainly to gain popularity, be it good or bad, and because he wants to be on the winning side of a battle. Aaron has no obvious hate for the group and merely wants to be in the in crowd. Allison Goh Allison, 19, is the elitist spoilt brat who throws her money around to get her way and is the other of Aisyahs cronies. She is snobbish, and often looks down on those less fortunate than her. This means that she often picks on

Khairul and Ellie, but she harbours a secret crush on Rash, finding him to be rather charming. As Jaq is rich, Allison has no obvious dislike for her.
