Warren McCoy was a professional athlete with aspirations for olympic gold, but whose natural tendency towards anger kept him from rising to his aspirations. Finally kicked out of the qualiers and barred from ever participating again when he came in second for qualiers but brutally attacked the rst place winner, Warrens selfrighteous rage called out to the Red Lantern corps like a beacon. The ring found him bludgeoning one of the ofcials that had banned him. The arrival of the ring gave the ofcial the needed distraction to ee, but Warren didnt care. He could feel the raging power of the ring as it called out to him. Warren McCoy, you have great rage in your heart. You belong to the Red Lantern Corps. Warren took the name Distraught because that was the emotion inicted upon those who met him. He participated in the vengeance rage attack on the world of the Vtood, whom had stood against the Red Lanterns during the War of Light. Unknown to the Red Lanterns at the time, the material of that world could absorb and purify their red light of rage. They only knew that they felt more exhausted than normal when their light nally destroyed the planet. Although most of the planet burned up in its sun, a fragment had enough ambient power absorbed from the attack to trigger micro-wormholes, sending it hopping across the galaxy. As it nally emerged over Earth and prepared to burn up in orbital entry, its power opened a nal wormhole, but this one across the multiverse to Earth 0000, where it empowered and transported the men whom would become the Crimson Conjuror and ArachKnight to the DC Universe. Distraught had deduced the reason for the weakening of his fellow lanterns during the destruction of Vtood, and traced the corrupted power signature to the two heroes of Earth 0000. He intended to kill them, but when they drove him back, he summoned more of his Red Lanterns to help him nish the job. Driven back by his targets and the Justice League, Distraught swore to make both the Crimson Conjuror and Arach-Knight pay for stealing the righteous rage of the Red Lanterns. Driven By Rage: Like all Red Lanterns, Distraught is driven by reasonless rage. He can only use the most straight-forward tactics unless he succeeds in a DC 20 Will Check. If successful, he may employ more cunning strategies for one Round per each Degree of Success. Power Loss: Distraught's ring exhausts its power with time and use. It needs to be recharged using a Red Lantern battery. Servant of Rage: Like all Red Lanterns, Distraught cannot remove his ring without risking death. Weakness: Red Lantern Corps power rings depend on the ability of the wielder to feel rage. The maximum rank of the ring's effect is equal to the user's Fortitude Rank to reect the being's capacity for raw fury. Calming thoughts and hopeful feelings, such as those inspired by the Blue Lanterns, can cause the ring to fail.
PERSONALITY
Distraught has more control over his rage than most Red Lanterns, but still has some major anger management issues. He feels entitled to greatness, and determined to make others pay if they dishonor his Corps.
Distraught has no innate powers. He gets all of his power from his ring.

In addition to the Crimson Conjuror and Arach-Knight, pretty much anyone who crosses Distraught had best watch out. He is also often at odds with the Green Lantern Corps and the Justice League.
